2 questions

Can you turn on and off a smart light away from home?

If I have an automatic routine that turns a light ON automatically at sundown, can I manually turn it off AWAY from home?

Hi 808IUFan,

Yes you can control WiFi connected smart devices from different networks. You can use the device manufactures app, the Google Home app, device control shortcuts on Android device or from the Google assistant on a mobile device.

Voice commands are working much better since Android 12 came out but YouTube playlists on the TV app still are all messed up still and many are empty even though these same playlists work now with voice commands and are all working fine with contents on the Windows App and on my android phone.

Hey 808IUFan,

Could you tell us more about your YouTube playlists on the TV app? Are you using any Google Home or Google Nest speaker in casting to your TV?

Best,

Alex

Chromecast with Google TV, the YouTube Music app on the TV. Many YT playlists at the title level say the accurate count of items but the main screen shows this Playlist has no contents or something like that. If you look at it by artist and album (for playlists that consist of LPs) everything is in YT music but the playlist ONLY on the TV is empty. I can go to the same playlist on my computer and phone and everything is correct.

Hey 808IUFan,

Make sure that on the Chromecast with Google TV, the Google TV Account is the same one you have used for your YouTube music subscription.

You can check this by going to:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Accounts and Sign In.
  3. Check if the account is correct.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex

No because they are not real solutions. I only have one account and everything is on THAT.

Hey 808IUFan,

Understood. To make sure, do you have a premium subscription with YouTube Music? Also, could you try resetting your Chromecast with Google TV?

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex

I do have premium and I have not only reset my Chromecast but I have removed YouTube and YouTube Music apps on the TV and added them back. Nothing has worked.

This has been going on for well over a year. It's not new!! Even before I had Chromecast with GTV. I bought that thinking it may fix it. It was the same on my old Sony TV. So I have bought a new LG TV, New Device (CCWGTV) , and reset everything. I even tried the YouTube Music app on my brand new LG TV, not Chromecast. Same exact Playlists are empty. You have a huge bug on the TV version of the app and you refuse to admit it.

We understand how important this is for you. Since it's happening to all your devices, you might need to contact YouTube Music support for additional assistance.

Kind regards,

Still not fixed. You offered no help really. The issue is with the YouTube Music TV app and you refuse to acknowledge that. I have already talked to YouTube support but since everything is perfect on computer and phone they say it cant be them or else the issue would be on every device. So it is 100% the TV app and that is the case in Chromecast with Google TV and the LG TV Youtube music app. So this has been going on now for close to 2 years which tell me you do not care.

Did you see me say above that I tried them FIRST??? They said if the issue was on all devices, it would be a YouTube issue. It is ONLY ONLY ONLY, for the 3rd or 4th time, on the YouTube TV apps, both YouTube and YouTube Music. Is there an App community?
