Google Home: turn off Smart plug when Battery reaches 70%

Hey, All!

To preserve battery health, it's best to keep it up to 70% (Source: Accu Battery).

We want to automate turning off a Google Home-compatible Smart Plug when battery reaches 70%.

I was able to do it with Macro droid, but it's tricky! I created a bot to be triggered when Battery reaches 70%.

Bot actions are:

1) turn on screen,

2) swipe up (to get out of notifications)

3) {get a smart band close to cellphone with Bluetooth-unlock enabled)

4) launch Google assistant

5) speak up "turn off Smart plug" ---> this launches a Google Home automation I created to turn off the Smart plug

This is not a proper way to automate it. Too much tricky to get it to work and requires that I sleep with the Smartband near the cellphone instead of on my wrist.

It would be wonderful to have it simple in Google Home!!!

Hi EduardoCarv,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I understand how helpful it would be to have an automation that turns off your smart plugs when your battery reaches 70%. This could definitely benefit many users by automating their homes.

Currently, an alternative solution is to create a routine for your home. This can help automate tasks throughout the day. You could also consult with the manufacturer of your smart plugs to see if they offer this specific automation feature. For reference, you can see this article: Create and manage Routines in Google Home.

Additionally, we encourage you to send feedback to help us improve our products and services.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
