There is a specific app for the Chromebooks I think.

Look into your Chromebook PlayStore.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Hollen_ar_mor.

MattyBatty, thanks for reaching out. You can link Spotify using the Google Home app on your phone. Using Google Home for web to link Spotify is not available yet. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. See the article below on how to do it.

Share feedback about Google Nest

It seems there might be a dedicated app available for Chromebooks. I recommend checking the Chromebook PlayStore to explore further.

I think some third party app may work for you like nol card balance check, I saw a post where some people were arguing which app will be fine similar for them like visa transfer.

You can search for that as well, and use it for the time being.

It looks like there could be a specific app designed for Chromebooks. I suggest browsing the Chromebook Play Store to see if it’s available and explore its features for a better experience.

I’ve had a similar issue before when trying to link Spotify with my Google Home — it kept asking for an extra Google app that wasn’t even compatible with my device. What helped in my case was uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app, then making sure both apps (Google Home and Spotify) were updated to the latest version before linking them again.

I really rely on Spotify, especially when I’m commuting on the Dubai Metro, so I know how frustrating it is when it won’t connect properly. Once it synced, it worked fine across all my devices. Maybe try clearing the app cache or logging out of Spotify first, then reconnecting through Google Home.

That's a fantastic and very helpful suggestion! You've hit on a key troubleshooting step that many people miss. The "uninstall and reinstall" method often clears out any corrupted data or settings that can cause these kinds of linking errors.

The advice about checking for app updates and clearing the cache is also spot-on. Keeping both the Google Home app and Spotify updated ensures they're using the latest APIs and communication protocols, which can prevent these kinds of issues.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it's a great contribution to the thread!

Thanks a lot for the kind words! Glad to hear the suggestion makes sense. I know how small things like reinstalling or updating can save a ton of frustration. For me it was a real headache because I use Spotify daily, especially during my Dubai Metro rides, so getting it synced with Google Home was a must. Happy if my experience can help someone else avoid the same struggle.
