Google Nest Heating

My google nest thermostat suddenly stopped working last night. The app showed an exclamation mark and on the thermostat it showed there was no connection. On the walll where the white pad would normally show a green light it is now yellow/amber. I have switched it off at the walll tried to reconnect with now success

Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. Is your device showing offline? Have you tried resetting the device? Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,

Jake

Hi Jake. Thanks for getting back to me. Still no joy. It’s showing totally offline and the white part of the thermostat is still showing as amber.  I have uninstalled the nest thermostat off my phone but no luck in getting it reinstalled it keeps saying it can’t connect to the thermostat

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for helping, Jake.

@NLGillespie, I'm sorry for the late reply. It appears that your thermostat is not getting any power from your system. Let's see what's going on.

  • Are you getting any message codes or reports in the Nest app?
  • Ensure that all wires are properly connected and tabs are pushed down.
  • Charge your thermostat display manually using a USB charger for at least an hour.
  • After charging for an hour, put the display back on its base and wait until it turns on.
  • Check the equipment settings for any possible wiring reports or message codes.

Please let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks,

Mark
