My google Nest Audio regularly becomes muffled and randomly will drop Bluetooth connection. The only way to resolve has been unplugging and restarting, but it is not long until it happens again. All of the threads with similar issues were closed without a clear resolution. Would appreciate any help on what I could do.

Hello Community,
It's annoying to have to continuously restarting a device in order to maintain steady sound, and I've experienced similar problems with my Nest Audio. I'm hoping Google will soon provide a firmware update. I've started streaming primarily on my backup speaker in the interim. The TeleLatino works remarkably well across devices if all you want is to enjoy music or shows without any hassles.
It's especially useful for casual viewing while you figure out your tech issues.
Sounds Good?

Hi there,
I’ve had similar issues with my Google Nest Audio becoming muffled and randomly dropping the Bluetooth connection. What worked for me was doing a full factory reset (hold the mic mute button for around 15 seconds), updating the firmware through the Google Home app, and ensuring the speaker was placed away from Wi-Fi routers or other devices that might cause interference. Also, try unpairing and re-pairing the Bluetooth connection—sometimes that clears any hidden bugs.
If the issue keeps happening, it might be hardware-related, and contacting Google Support would be a good idea.

Hey Forums,
It’s frustrating when your Google Nest Audio starts sounding muffled or keeps dropping Bluetooth—especially when rebooting is only a temporary fix. Many users have reported similar issues, often without any permanent resolution. Try a full factory reset, ensure firmware is up to date, and avoid placing the device near wireless interference. While you troubleshoot, consider streaming your favorite content on the MagisTV Celular app—a free, easy-to-use platform perfect for enjoying shows without interruption.
Best Regards!

I've been dealing with the same issue on my Nest Audio—muffled sound followed by sudden Bluetooth disconnects, and like you, the only temporary fix has been a restart. It seems to happen more often after the device has been on for extended periods or when switching between devices. I’ve tried firmware updates and network resets, but nothing has permanently solved it. rbtv

If your Google Nest Audio regularly becomes muffled and randomly drops its Bluetooth connection, a good first step is to perform a factory reset by holding the microphone mute button for about 15 seconds until the device announces it's resetting. This can help clear any internal glitches. After resetting, set the device up again using the Google Home app and ensure both the app and device firmware are up to date. Since Bluetooth on Nest Audio is known to have occasional stability issues, try using Wi-Fi casting through Chromecast-enabled apps like Spotify, Magis TV para iOS or YouTube Music for a more reliable connection and better sound quality. Also, check your Wi-Fi network—place the speaker closer to the router, switch to a 5GHz band if available, and avoid interference from other electronics. If the issue continues, assigning a static IP address to the Nest Audio via your router’s settings may help. If none of these steps resolve the problem, it’s best to contact Google Support, especially if your device is still under warranty.

I’ve had the same issue, which is super frustrating when I’m using photo editing apps like PicsArt or Snapseed and want background music. A few quick tips:
– Check for firmware updates in the Google Home app.
– Try a full factory reset instead of just unplugging.
– Keep the speaker away from Wi‑Fi routers or other devices that might cause interference.
– Reset EQ settings to default.
If it keeps happening, contacting Google Support is worth it — sometimes they replace faulty units. Hope this helps!

The muffled sound and frequent Bluetooth disconnections on your Google Nest Audio may stem from interference or a software glitch, so try repositioning the speaker away from other electronics and ensuring the firmware is updated via the Google Home app. A factory reset through the crictime app, followed by re-pairing the device, can sometimes provide a more lasting fix than just unplugging. If the issue persists, contact Google Support directly, as it could indicate a hardware defect requiring replacement.
