My google Nest Audio regularly becomes muffled and randomly will drop Bluetooth connection. The only way to resolve has been unplugging and restarting, but it is not long until it happens again. All of the threads with similar issues were closed without a clear resolution. Would appreciate any help on what I could do.

First, check in the Google Home app to make sure your Nest Audio’s firmware is fully up to date. If it is, try performing a factory reset, which can be more effective than just unplugging the device.
Sometimes these issues are caused by network instability. Just like a weak or fluctuating Wi-Fi signal can cause buffering when streaming apps like APP , it can also affect your speaker’s performance—resulting in audio dropouts or poor sound quality. Try rebooting your Wi-Fi router and modem, and verify that the signal strength near your Nest Audio is strong. Also, look out for Bluetooth interference from nearby devices that might be competing for the same frequency.
If you’ve tried all of these steps and the problem still persists, it could be a hardware issue, and reaching out to Google Support would be your best next move.
