Google Nest hub and Iphone 17 Promax

Hi there brain trust,

I finally converted to IPhone and bought an IPhone ProMax 17. With my previous Samsung S25 ultra, I was able to get Google Nest Hub to ring my Android phone and it will ring. With my new IPhone 17 Pro Max, Google Nest Hub will try to ring and acknowledge my Iphone17 Pro Max but it does not ring at all. Is there a solution to this please? Please let me know . Thanks in advance brain trust.

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you want your iPhone 17 Pro Max to ring when you ask for it on your Google Nest Hub. I see that while your Google Nest Hub recognizes the device, it isn't producing a ring like it did on your previous Samsung S25 Ultra. I appreciate the information you've shared, and I'll be happy to assist you.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Is the Google Home app fully updated on your iOS device?
  • Are you receiving any messages from the display when you attempt to ring the phone?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Because iOS handles notification permissions differently than Android, I recommend ensuring your Critical Alerts are enabled, as this allows the phone to ring even if it is on silent or in Do Not Disturb mode. You can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app and tap Settings.
  2. Go to Notifications and select General notifications.
  3. Turn on Critical Alerts.

Please note that this feature is only available in the US and Canada on iOS.
