Hi, my router updated overnight and now one of my smart speakers wont connect.
I have done factory reset; tried legacy mode; tried 2.4ghz switch; tried switching off router for 3 minutes.
My other Google speaker still connects and is working fine.
The speaker not connecting is a Google nest mini gen 2. The Google home app can find the speaker but then a message to check my WiFi comes up.

I have the exact same issue. I have x2 Google nest mini and the both stopped working Friday morning for no reason. Both wont connect to the Internet! Tried everything and nothing works.

Do you have an eero router; Talktalk? Seems to be a problem from all the posts specifically about them

Yeah I do! Right, glad im not the only one now which is a relief. Still doesn't fix the issue though.

This usually happens after a router update changes how devices connect. Since your other speaker still works, it’s likely a handshake issue with that specific Nest Mini. A few things that often fix it:
In the Home app, remove the saved Wi-Fi info for the device completely before setting it up again. A factory reset alone can leave old connection data behind.
Check your router’s wireless security settings. Some Google devices don’t connect properly if the router is set to the newest encryption mode only—switching back to the older standard usually solves it.
Try reserving an address for the speaker in your router settings so it always gets the same one. This helps if it’s failing during the connection stage.
If all else fails, test setup on a phone hotspot. If it works there, then you’ll know the issue is in the router config, not the device.
Most of the time, adjusting the security mode on the router does the trick.
