Google nest, outdoor camera and floodlight… Will not reinstall

Hello there, I installed a Google nest, floodlight and camera combo outside approximately six months ago. The installation went fine. Recently we had to change our Wi-Fi password and now the camera will not show on the Google nest app. The flood light seems to be working when there is motion.
I have tried shutting off the power and reinstalling, shutting off the router/tower and rebooting, I have been using the QR code to scan the device since it’s in a very high location, and I have push the button on the back of the camera to hopefully reset it. Nothing seems to be working as far as allowing me to reconnect it to the Google Home app.

any suggestions?

Hi Ktjess02,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what is the light status of your Nest Camera? When connecting it to a new Wi-Fi network, it will require you to reset it to the factory default and make sure it has a blue light pulsing (indicating that it's ready to connect). For the setup, you may take a photo of the Setup key located at the bottom part of the camera head. So that when you're setting it up you don't need to scan the QR and enter the setup key instead.

To reset:

1. Locate the reset button on the back of your Nest Camera.

  • Tip: The reset button on your Nest Camera is located on the back of the camera head.

2. Press and hold the button:

  • At 10 seconds, the status light will flash yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

3. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.

4. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.

To remove it from the app, open the app, tap on the device, then tap Settings> Remove device > Confirm.

5. To learn more, you may visit our public article about “Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell”.
