Google point for wifi

Cannot seem to get my Google Wi-Fi point to set up it keeps wanting to join the wrong net work… Any help greatly appreciated I’m really frustrated

Hi Khaas,
 

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let’s check this out.
 

To be clear, are these the Google WiFi routers/points or the Google Nest WiFi routers/points? Is this the first time setting it up? What is the exact message? Is the main router working as intended? Could you tell me the status of the LED lights of your Google WiFi router and your Google WiFi point?
 

Before doing the steps below, make sure your phone is connected to WiFi and your mobile/cellular data disabled:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app. 
  2. Tap Add then tap Set up device.
  3. Under Set up a new device, tap New device.
  4. If prompted, choose a home.
  5. Select the point tap Next.
  6. Tap Scan code.
    • On the bottom of the device, scan the QR code. 
    • If unable to scan the QR code, tap Continue without scanning, and enter the setup key found on the bottom of the device.
  7. The point will now connect. For Nest WiFi points, when you hear a sound from the speaker, tap Yes. If there's no sound, tap Try Again.
  8. Follow the in-app instructions to finish set up.
  9. If there's another point to add, in the app, tap Yes when prompted or repeat these steps at a later time for additional points.
  10. Once all of the Google WiFi devices have been added, the app will perform a mesh test to confirm that everything works.
