Hello all, It's 2025 what is the best way to integrate NFC tags in to my google home?

I am trying to use NFC tags to automate my google home routines and devices (lighting, music, etc.).  Since NFC tags are a thing and people have been asking to use them with google assistant for over 5 years, I am sure there is some work around by now. If anyone here can help I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and comments.

Hi @Casevillan,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're looking to use NFC tags to automate your Google Home routines and devices, like lighting and music, and you're aware that this has been a requested feature for some time. I appreciate you reaching out to the community for help with this, as it's a very clever way to think about streamlining your smart home interactions.

You're right that this is a popular request. We completely agree that NFC support in automations would unlock many use cases. We are discussing the matter along with other useful features we are planning to ship with the Google Home script editor. We will share updates on our progress in the Nest Community when this feature becomes available.

Regards,

Kevin

I was scrolling through a Reddit thread about lightweight APKs that don’t crash every two minutes when someone mentioned ***** Said it ran smooth even on dusty old Androids. I downloaded it out of spite (I didn’t believe them), but now I use it daily. Even when my connection is being evil like usual here in Bangladesh, it opens fast and doesn’t explode with ads. Way more usable than the bloated nonsense I’ve tried before.
