Hey guys,
I'm trying to create an automation with custom scripts that would turn on a specific outlet based if my Nest Thermostat is running in any condition (cooling, heating or fan).
I want to turn on a scent machine that will spray only if the HVAC is running.
Any tips or recommendations if possible? This is my first time with scripts
Thank you

Hi soares-a,
Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with creating an automation with custom scripts to turn on a specific outlet based on your Nest Thermostat running in any condition, but no need to worry; help is here.
With the Google Home app, you can automate your home using Routines. To create advanced household routines, the script editor allows you to program scripted automations with additional starters, conditions, actions, and advanced logic.
Let's explore some troubleshooting options.

Hey GabrielaG
Thanks for the guidance and information. One of the challenges that I have is on how to use Google Nest Thermostat as a starter, specifically using its current condition, not the mode. For example, my Thermostat right now is set to heat and it manages the temperature in the house to always be at a certain level. When it's running, I want it to send that info to Google Home so the GHA will turn on a smart outlet that I have on my account.
Is it possible or just when the mode changes it reports back?
Thank you

Hi soares-a,
Thank you very much for keeping me updated and sharing the information with me. I understand you want to use Google Nest Thermostat as a starter to turn on a smart outlet that I have on your account.
The thermostat can't direct orders to other devices. What I recommend to you is to create a routine with a voice command to activate all the actions that you want your devices to do. You can refer to this article to create your routine. Automate daily routines & tasks with Google Assistant.
Let me know how it goes.
