I’ve had 2 outdoor nest cameras and a gen one nest doorbell cam for 3-4 years. I used them on the Nest app and had a nest aware. Loved it all and worked perfectly for me - exactly what I wanted. My nest doorbell gave up the ghost recently and I bought a wired gen2 nest doorbell. So of course I am forced to now use Google Home as it won’t let me connect the new doorbell to nest and is forcing me to use Home. I’m not at all pleased. I have nothing ‘smart’ in my house(home) except the cameras. The notifications are not working AT ALL as well as the nest app did. My nest cams still work great on nest and I get the notifications as I always did but no doorbell on nest. I can see/watch/communicate with both cameras and the doorbell in Home but not getting useful notifications and the user UNfriendliness is overwhelming!! I think the new app is a huge step back. I may have to pack up my new (inferior) gen2 doorbell and send it back to Amazon and look for an old gen one doorbell.
can anyone guide/advise me and help teach this old dog sobe new tricks.
Thanks in advance!
PJ

Hello pondsurfer,
Thanks for posting here in the Community. For all the newer models of the Google Nest Camera, Thermostat, and Doorbell, they can only be set up, configured, and accessed through the Google Home App. Here is a link about this update from last year.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Best,
Edmond
