Home switching to away even though my phone and I are Home

I work from home, and I have the location of my phone shared with Google for presence sensing, My wife also has location access enabled on her phone but by default, it is set to my phone, at random times all the lights will shut off, the TV will shut off, and the house goes into away mode as "Everyone has left the house" but I'm still HOME... I look in the app and it shows in the activity switched to away. any suggestions???

This could be a short work around while you wait for a moderator.

If you use the script Editor in home. Otherwise you could navigate through the usual automation interface to attempt some of these same temporary tweaks.

Set a condition that if smart light, plug, tv, (any devices you have on while you're home) is on, your Google home presence state is set to home.

Or you can include time states mixed with times you're usually home and presence states setting to home.

Thank you for posting in the community, and to @mikethegreat26 for the recommendations! I am sorry to hear that your lights and TV turn off and your house is going into Away mode while you're home. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

• Is your Google home address set correctly in the Google Home app?
• Are there other devices (Nest Thermostat, Nest Protect, Nest speakers, and displays) contributing to Home and Away?
• Have you noticed this behavior when you talk on the phone? Some phone carriers won’t allow phone calls and data transfer at the same time.
• Are you using an Android or iOS device?
• Are you using the same account in the Google Home app that you used to set up your devices?
