I've been trying to get my Nest learning thermostat to talk to alexa. I have inadvertantly entered 3 homes in google home and want to start over. Google nest always goes to Google home when I try to set up Alexa.

To delete a home in Google Home basically you remove all members that have access to the home, then delete it.
See delete a home on this page:

All sounds good in theory, but I have been trying for weeks and every time I try that, it states that it cannot connect with google and to try again later. I've also spent over 3 hours total with help chat and things are worse now that when I started.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.
I understand that this can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? Thanks to sporfrog for the help here.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Yes I still need help. But I am loosing enthusiasm. I have spent too many hours on this already. It should be easy. It seems like Google took over Nest and broke it. If I could ditch the Google part of this and go back to Nest I would (now) gladly live without the Alexa functionality.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear about the issues you're still having.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Also try unlinking the device from the app and doing a factory reset on the device. I would also suggest clearing the cache from the app within your phone settings.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Hi Garrett,
I have tried these things multiple times. Is there a best case order to do them in?
I will try again.

Hi there sloop,
That's a great question. Factory resetting devices should be the last go to troubleshooting step that you try. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app first, then clearing cache from the app next if that doesn't work. Lastly do the factory rest of the devices.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Garrett DS
