My family has the original Google Home speaker, and we’ve been trying to set up a shared grocery list that everyone can modify using voice commands. However, the setup process—including creating a Google Nest, adding family members, enabling personalized results, and setting up voice match—has been too complicated. My main question is: how can I create a shared list through Google Home that all family members can update by voice and view on their own phones in the Google Keep app?

To set up a shared Google Keep list via Google Home, first open the Google Home app and make sure your Google account is connected. Then go to Settings > Notes & Lists and select Google Keep as your default notes provider. After that, create a new list in Google Keep and tap on the “Collaborator” option to add the person you want to share it with using their Gmail address. Once added, both of you can manage and update the list using voice commands through Google Home. You can even create separate lists for different topics, whether it’s groceries, daily tasks, or something specific like 呪術廻戦 raw.

You can do this without setting up anything too complex. The easiest way is to use Google Keep, since Google Home natively supports it for lists.
Here’s the simple setup:
Make sure everyone has a Google account and the Google Keep app installed on their phone.
In Google Keep, create a new note (for example, “Family Grocery List”) and share it with all family members using their email addresses.
On the Google Home app, ensure each person is added to the home and has Voice Match enabled (this allows Google to know who’s speaking).
Each person should set Google Keep as their default notes & lists provider in their Assistant settings.
After that, anyone can say things like:
“Hey Google, add milk to the family grocery list”
and the item will appear instantly in the shared Google Keep note. Everyone can view and edit the same list on their own phones, and updates stay synced automatically.
This avoids extra Nest configurations and keeps everything in one shared, voice-controlled list.
