How to lock Google mesh from kids

Pileofashes

I recently started buying smart devices for our home.  At first I was having my partners 11 yr old help me set things up,  so he has the Google Home app on his phone.   In hindsight it wasn't a great idea because I just set up Google Mesh and we want to be able to pause his devices, but he could just open the Home app and unpause himself.   How do I fix this?  Is it as simple as deleting the Google Home app from his phone?  Or would he just be able to re-download it? Is there a way to password/pin lock my mesh?

What Google (gmail) Account is the 11-year-old using to log into the Google Home app? Is he using your account? If he is, you'll need to remove the Google Home app from his phone, but if you've given him your Google Account credentials (or if he saved the password on his phone) you might have to change your password (which will require updating the Wi-Fi settings on your Google Nest devices--a real pain). If he's using his own Google Account to log into the Google Home app, you can remove him from the Google Nest "household" in the Google Home app under Settings | Household.

Hey everyone,

I appreciate the help, @MplsCustomer

@Pileofashes, thanks for posting here. If your Google Account was used to set up the Google mesh network, you just need to remove the Google Home app and your account from the child's phone, like what MplsCustomer suggested. If he is only a home member, then he should not have the option to pause or unpause a device on his app.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Lovely

Thank you for this information! Sorry to report back so slowly.  I deleted the app from his phone,  and he never saved my info to begin with.   Our new system is working great,  and I couldn't be happier.   No more fighting with kids at bedtime over remotes and phones! Yay!
