Light brightness reduced by Google Assistant vs. Native app

Nicksone

Hi,

Last week I've noticed that even if I ask GA to go brightness 100%, it's, actually, kept at aprox 16% only.

On native app (Hama) I can go to 100%.

Same is happening when asking on Hub Max, Smart home speaker, mini smart home speaker or Pixel 6 pro phone in all 4 rooms.

Any help on this matter?

Thanks in advance

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the brightness settings on your Google devices. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Make sure that your Google devices are up-to-date with the latest software updates. You can check for updates by going to the settings menu on each device and looking for a "System updates" or "Software update" option.
  2. Try resetting your Google devices to their factory settings. This will erase all of your data and settings on the device, so make sure to backup any important data first. To reset a Google device, go to the settings menu and look for a "Reset" or "Factory reset" option.
  3. Contact Google support for further assistance. If the above steps don't resolve your issue, you may need to contact Google support for additional help. They can provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps or offer to replace the device if it's determined to be defective.

Hello everyone,

@sarasotawash, I appreciate you trying to help out.

@Nicksone, you might try clearing the cache on the Google Assistant app. Also, make sure that the app is updated to the latest version and check if that resolves the issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,
Lovely

Hi ,

May I know how to clear cache? For what device? I have hub max, smart home speaker, mini speakers and a Pixel phone .

Right now I noticed that 100% brightness in GA corresponding to only 19% in native app (Hama).

Thanks.

Hi there Nicksone,

Sorry for the delayed response. Follow these steps to clear the cache of your Google Assistant and Google Home apps: open your phone's Settings > Apps > See all apps > Select Google Home or Google Assistant > Choose Storage & Cache > Clear cache.

If the issue persists, you can also unlink and relink Hama from Google Home and see if that helps. Check out this article for more information.

Cheers,
Lovely
