I have two door locks integrated and linked into my Google Home. Why do they not appear as actions so that I can have them lock automatically via presences sensing on away routines?

There are a few reasons why your door locks might not be appearing as actions in your Google Home app.
If you've checked all of these things and your door locks still aren't appearing as actions, you can try contacting the manufacturer of your locks for support.
Here are some additional things you can try:
If you're still having trouble, you can contact Google Home support for help.
Here are the steps on how to set up an away routine to lock your door automatically:
Your door locks will now lock automatically when you're away from home.
I hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. My locks are added as automations in Google Home and working otherwise just fine in Google Home. In fact I can setup other types of automations where I can trigger the locks to lock. For example, I have an automation that locks my doors at 10 PM every night. It works flawlessly.
But for some reason in my presence sensing away routine, the locks do not appear as triggers.

Hi folks,
Thanks for the help here, MsDrasby
AlaDC, thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what is the make of the door lock linked to the Google Home app? Were you able to set it up as an action before? Are you using Android or iOS? Is the Google Home app updated? Also, what steps have you taken so far?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Juni

Juni,
One is a Schlage Encode, model # BE489WB. The other is an August Smart Lock Pro. I'm using IOS, and the Google Home app is updated. I subscribe to public preview. The locks seems to be working fine and integrated to google home otherwise. I can setup automations in the app such as "At 6:00pm, lock the front door" and it will execute it just fine. The lock pops up as an action item I can select from.
The only thing that doesn't work is adding them to my existing Away routine that google has setup for me in the app. This routine currently uses presence sensing or if I tell google "everyone is leaving" as starters. The routine currently has the actions setup set my nest thermostat to Eco and turn on my nest hub max camera. When I try to add an action, however, I can only select from lights or cameras. There are no locks appearing to allow me to trigger a door to lock.
Thanks,

On the same boat as well. I can only set lights and light switches on my Home and Away routines. No smart locks show up. However, I can control smart locks with any other routines. Can we please get an answer on whether this is an intentional limitation?

It’s infuriating. This is basic stuff Google should be able to get right.

Use the script edotor to create your own away routine. Away mode in script editor can be set as a trigger there. I turn off my AC units like this since the "standard" default routines for away and good morning etc sux hard. Google should completely remove them and let us set it up ourselfs.
Btw I think it's kinda new thing. Wasn't possible to use away as a trigger (action I think they call it) 6+ months ago.
