Long to heat

PappaPee

Hey peeps, hope all is good. Question,  Why is taking my house so long to heat. 4 degrees in 4 hours? Windows,  doors all closed,  eco turned off, nest stat set at 23 degrees. Started at 13 at 8pm now sitting at 17 degrees just after 12am. Brand new combi boiler. My old boiler was a systems boiler with a control box never took this long.  Any suggestions?

Hi @PappaPee,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you are having trouble with your new combi boiler because it is taking significantly longer than your old system to heat your home, achieving only a 4-degree temperature increase over four hours despite your Nest Thermostat being set to 23 degrees. I appreciate you confirming the troubleshooting step you have taken. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? The following article might be helpful: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • What is the make and model of your new combi boiler?
  • You mentioned your old setup used a "control box" with the system boiler. Can you confirm if that control box was part of your old heating system, or was it a Nest Thermostat’s Heat Link?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards.

Derick.
