I have a a Meross automatic garage door device which has worked fine for a number of years either by verbal commands to Google assistant or manually on my phone. I can still operate it manually on my phone but Google Assistant responds with "Too many failed attempts. Please go to your device's app to complete that action". If I go to the Meross App I can operate the door manually but when I go to Devices on the Google Home App and select Garage door it says "Too many failed attempts" and requires me to enter a PIN which I don't have.

We have exactly the same issue. Did you find a resolution?

No I haven't but there must be someone out there in Google land who can give me a solution. It is clearly a Google Home issue as the app works perfectly well when used manually.

In the meross app I updated the name to something different and reset the pin. This solved it. Google is now happily opening and closing the door.

Brilliant. That did the trick. Thanks a million.
