Morning routine conflict

Wibbly
Community Member

So if I set an alarm with a Morning routine, it triggers the built in "Good morning" routine. This routine has a built in announcement I don't want and can't remove. So I tried

  • Creating a new routine with a Starter of 'When an alarm is dismissed'

  • Deactivating the built in Good morning routine

When an alarm is dismissed I get a Google assistant message that there are two conflicting routines, as if the deactivation of the Good morning routine has no effect. If I re-activate the Good moring routine and remove the Starter of 'When an alarm is dismissed' from my custom routing the Good morning routine works again.

I'm guessing this is bug, right? There no point in having a Starter of 'When an alarm is dismissed' if it can't be used because the Good morning routine is always active?

Hi  Wibbly,

Thanks for reaching out and for providing detailed information on your issue and the steps that you've done — these are of great help!

A few things: was this working before or this is the first time that you noticed it? Which Nest speaker/display are we working with? You can try to do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speaker/ displayfor 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Juni
