Multiple push notifications when automation fires

I'm consistently getting multiple push notifications when an automation based on camera detection of a person fires.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi @soxatl,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear you're consistently getting multiple push notifications when your person-detection Automation fires. I'm glad to help you find a solution.

To determine the most effective troubleshooting plan, Could you please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest Camera do you have?
  • Were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network?
  • Are there other family members who can access the camera? Do they receive any notifications?
  • Has the camera been moved recently?
  • Are there any Activity Zones set up for the camera?

If you have any additional details that might be helpful, feel free to share them with me.

Regards,

Gabriela

  • Cameras are Nest Cam (Battery) software version nq-user 1.77
  • No changes to wifi network
  • Yes other family members can access the cameras, the notification routine is a separate routine created with the script editor, and I'm the only user who receives a notification, and the routine even includes a 5 min delay immediately after the notification to try to keep it from running again and notifying multiple times
  • Cameras have not been moved recently
  • There are two cameras - one has 1 activity zone, the other does not have any zones
