Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase a Google Nest Thermostat.
They're ending App support for older models, while it's known to have mechanical issues, forcing users to upgrade
This is a cash grab tactic to have users with older, malfunctioning models upgrade to newer ones.
They offered a discount for those who own older models? Thats a lie.
I bought a house with these already installed and when the wheel stopped working - I was forced to install the App to continue using my thermostat. I reached out to Google Support for the discount code for the newer model but they told me I was not eligible because the account was registered for only 1 month.
If the thermostat didn't malfunction I would never have downloaded the App nor would I need to upgrade.
Now they're essentially forcing me to pay full price to upgrade to a new model because they're discontinuing App support which is the only way users with older models are able to continue using the thermostats.
Shame on you Google
