Need help!!! ASAP

Hello!!! I need help, I use my personal hotspot to connect with my chromecast, and last week was normal! Then suddenly started to not connect anymore!!!!! Pleeeease I need someone to help me. And its showing on the tv: ip configuration failure

I’m sorry to hear that your Chromecast device suddenly started to not connect to your hotspot and is showing a message on your TV screen that says, “IP configuration failure.” No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • What type of Chromecast device do you have?
  • Have you tried to reboot your Chromecast? 
  • Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app to set up your Chromecast?
  • Has your mobile device received any update?
  • Is your Chromecast connected to the same network as your mobile device?
  • In the meantime, please try with the following recommendation:

Check on your iPhone if the local network is allowed to the Google Home app.

  1. On your iOS device’s home screen (iOS 14 or later), tap Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy & Security Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.
  3. Turn on Local Network for the app(s) you would like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.

Even though Google streaming devices may sometimes work with hotspots, currently it is not supported by Chromecast. I recommend you use a WiFi network or Ethernet.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could give us the information necessary to better serve you with these questions:

In the meantime, I recommend you reboot your iPhone device and the mobile device that you are using as a hotspot.
