Yesterday, in an effort to fine-tune the timing of a light being turned on in my Good Morning routine, I deleted the stock Good Morning routine in order to write a new one using Google Home Script Editor. Unfortunately, despite having the same basic commands (eg turn on light, tell me about my day, play radio) the new Good Morning routine is apparently not recognized by the Lenovo Smart Clock I use as an alarm. Prior to my deletion of the original routine, I used the clock in the morning, and it started the routine with no issues. After the deletion and replacement with another routine using the same command, the clock began to respond "Sorry, I didn't understand" whether I said "stop" or touched the Stop icon on the screen. This suggests to me that what it doesn't understand is the Good Morning routine.
If I say "good morning" after the "hey, Google" trigger phrase, the routine runs properly. It appears to me that there is something in the original routine that I am not capturing in the replacement routine. The simplest thing would be to somehow reinstall the original and start over, but reinstalling Google Home has not achieved this. Without the original code for comparison, I have no way to know what it is that's causing the issue.
After 2 hours, Google Support decided it must be a Lenovo issue, despite the fact that it worked fine before my routine deletion. So I have posted a similar request on the Lenovo forum, but I really think the fix lies somewhere in Google Home. Until then my workaround is to say "good morning" after a trigger phrase after stopping the alarm. Not earth shattering, but definitely annoying. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Doug4675,
Thank you for posting in the community! I understand the issue you've had with your Lenovo Smart Clock since deleting the default routine to create a new one using the Google Home script editor. The device is not recognizing this new routine; when you use the voice command, it simply responds, 'I'm sorry, I didn't understand you.' I appreciate you contacting technical support directly and noting that, after troubleshooting, the routine only works when you say 'Good morning' after 'Hey Google.' Rest assured, I am here to help!
Following the resolution from Technical Support, I’d like to invite you to share feedback about Google Nest. This helps us improve our product features and create a more enjoyable experience for our users.
Best regards,
Eduardo
