Nest Camera Not working when connected to power

Hello! My Nest doorbell doesn’t work when connected outside at my front door, however it works when powered by USB. What can I do to get it working outside as well? I already made sure the wires were okay and they were, yet the camera still won’t turn on.

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

 

  • What type of Nest Doorbell do you have?
    • Is it 1Gen or 2Gen?
  • Did the Nest doorbell work when it was first installed?
  • Has there been any recent power outage in the area?
  • Has it been exposed to direct sunlight?
  • Are you getting any error messages?

 

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

Hello! Thank you for your reply.

I have a gen 1 nest doorbell, I’ve had it for around 2 years and it was working perfectly up until now. 

There haven’t been any power outages in the area, I also keep the doorbell on the porch under a small roof so the sun isn’t directly on it.

 

I don’t get any error messages, it works perfectly fine when plugged into the USB but when it’s plugged outside it won’t even turn on.

I filled out the form, I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be working.  Please let me know if you guys are able to actually help me out with my issue or not. I keep explaining to you guys what my issue is and no one has provided a solution so I would like to know if you guys are able to help me with it or not. Because I’ve tried everything in my power to make it work.
