Nest: Connecting Kasa Device

DrashtiSheth

Hi Nest Community,

I have a Google Nest and a smart Plug from Kasa (TP Link) to connect my Bedroom lights for automation. The problem I am facing is that even after setting my device through google home it’s doesn’t follow my command instead it says that to register the device. It already registered, I am to operate it through my Google Home App but not able to use command. I even tries to reset and set the entire process again. Has anyone faced a similar issue? If so please help me with this solution.

Thank you😊💕

Hello DrashtiSheth,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out.

A few questions: can you control the TP-Link smart plug before? If yes, when did the issue start? What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Unlink and then relink your TP-Link Kasa account from the Google Home app. Here's how: open the app > Tap Settings > Look for Works with Google > Select TP-Link Kasa > Unlink. Do the same steps to relink your smart device. Once done, ask your Google Nest device to 'sync the devices' and then confirm if you can now control it using voice command and the Google Home app.

Keep me posted.

Best,
Lovely
