Nest Thermostat saying I’ll raise the temp in 2+ hrs

I keep asking my thermostat to kick the heat on. The Nest is showing orange, but it’s saying it will heat in 2+ hrs. I’m asking it to go to 72°. The thermostat is saying the temperature inside is 63°. The temp outside is 14°.

I’ve tried adjusting the schedule and it’s just not working. Can anyone help with this one?

Hi Cdouble,

Thanks for reaching out in the Google Nest Community forum. Once the Nest Thermostat shows an orange screen, your heating system should turn on. The 2+hrs that show on your thermostat screen is just an estimated time where your thermostat reaches your set temperature for your home.

To confirm, what type of air is coming out of your vent? In what country are you located? Also, what type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

Checking your thermostat's Energy History will tell you what your thermostat is doing previously. Please gather your thermostat's power readings.

Have a look at this guide:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
