I have Google nest with two extenders in my home. I have a coop/barn with power 300’ from the house. I would like to add nest cameras in the barn and point some at the driveway but need a outdoor extender (repeater). I do have a conduit path if I have to add fiber or cat 5 from my base hub to a new location. But I would like to keep it on the same network. Any suggestions? Thank You!

Hi Greenegary,
Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay. You can hardwire access points to your main Google Wifi router. This way, you have a strong connection to your barn. You could also add an additional Google Wifi access point to your mesh network to increase coverage.
Best,
Mel

If I install a second hardwired Google hub at the barn will it be on the same network as the home, so I can see the cameras on the original network?

Would I wire the second nest hub to the original hub or to the router? I want it in the same network so I can see the cameras from the original network. Thanks

Hi there,
We don't have a way to connect the Google Nest Hub through wired connections only through Wi-Fi. You can add additional Google Wifi access points through wired or wireless connections to extend the coverage of your network, as long as you connect your Nest Hub and camera to the same SSID and password, you can link them together.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Alex

Azarco thank you for the reply!
I have the Nest router and two wireless points in me house existing.
my points are wireless. I have a conduit path to the barn 300’ feet away from the house. What do I need to extend to the barn? A second router or a point that has a wired option? I have a cat 6 cable to connect the two but I don’t know what to purchase.

Hello Greenegary,
For better coverage, you can purchase a Google Wifi router and set it up as a wired access point for your mesh network. Check this guide for more information.
Thanks,
Alex
