Does any know why google home will not allow me to add an invite name or email?

The person you're inviting has to have a Google (gmail) Account.

Thanks for posting here in Community forum. 

I wanted to check and see if you managed to see the information that  has shared. Also, if your account is a Google Workspace account, you won't be able to add others to your home and Google accounts for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). On the other hand, here's an article you can follow on how to invite members to home in your account.
