I changed my WiFi password and forgot to re log into my nest thermostat. It’s showing off line in the nest app. I’m now remote so can I log into my nest on my iPhone or can it only be done at the thermostat?

Hello folks,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for sharing the article, @RXShorty.
@JWMARV, how's it going? Have you tried the steps from the article shared above? If you haven't reconnected it, resetting the thermostat to default settings and adding it back again in the app would allow you to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Mark

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t tried it yet because its a weekend type house and I haven’t been back there since it happened. I was under the impression I need to re type in the password from the thermostat at the house , and it’s not possible from the app. I can try your suggestion of deleting the thermostat and re establishing it but that concerns me because I don’t have its credentials to reinstall it. I may just wait till I’m back in a few weeks.

Hi JWMARV,
Got it. You can also try resetting the Account Connection in the Reset settings on your actual thermostat itself. Then, manually reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network with your new password. Once connected, proceed by adding it back to the Nest app. This would help without performing a factory data reset.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Best,
Mark
