Hey jbrucks,

 

Thanks for reaching out. 

 

You will no longer be able to control the volume of all the speakers in a speaker group at the same time. This includes from the Google Home app, on display devices, and using Assistant voice commands (ex. “Change [group name] volume to 50%”). You will need to control the volume for each speaker in the group individually. Hope this helps!

Yes I understood all that, my workaround suggested a different methodology.

My methodology involves the function of a routine that individually controls speaker volume. With a keyword to invoke the routine. It is a workaround and not part of the patent fight because I am not using my voice to invoke a change to the speakers on an individual basis. I'm invoking a routine that then changes the volume of each speaker individually. Legally speaking I believe there is a difference
