Nest thermostat E won’t connect to the nest app

I’ve recently set up the E link with my new boiler and I’m trying to get the thermostat E to connect to the app

all I’m getting on the thermostat is a downwards arrow and a house on the screen and it will not go past this stage I’ve tried re setting the wifi, downloading the Google home app and connecting that way and resetting the thermostat itself but nothing seems to be working. 

if anyone has any solutions or have been in similar situations please share your tips, thank you

I appreciate the time you've taken to perform the troubleshooting steps described in this post. To help me find the best solution, please answer the following questions:

  • During the installation, did you see an error message on the Nest app?
  • Could you confirm the exact steps you took to reset the thermostat?
  • Can you provide a picture of what you currently see on your thermostat display?

Please note that to complete the pairing process for the Nest Thermostat E, you must use the Nest app first. In the meantime, I suggest checking out this article: Add your Nest thermostat to the Nest app.
