Just out of curiosity, why does my Nest thermostat offer multiple "steps" for each temperature? I can choose 72 degrees (ASAP, I assume), or, 72 degrees in 25 minutes, or, 72 degrees in 1 hour & 15 minutes, and so on. If I dial through all the 72 degree options, eventually I get to 71 degrees and the choices begin again. My AC unit has only one speed. This is probably too simple for a modern digital device, but why isn't there a single step for each temperature--like 74, click, 73 click, 72 click?

Hi modernefan,
Thanks for reaching out. You should be able to scroll through the temperature when you're choosing a target temp. Could you share a photo of the screen that you're seeing?
You could also click on this link to learn more about setting a target temperature on your Nest Thermostat.
Thanks,
Edward
