Nest wi-fi and Outlook issue

danielwilliamed
Community Member

Hi,

I recently installed Nest Wi-fi at home and for some reason, my partner's work Outlook (running on her MacBook) will not update, or does so extremely slowly. Everything else works fine, but her Outlook doesn't. If we reconnect her to the old WiFi network or a hotspot, it works absolutely fine, so the problem is obviously something to do with the new Nest wi-fi. She is not happy about me changing our network to Nest, which is a shame because it was pretty expensive! Outlook seems to work if she runs it in the browser, but she much prefers to use the Outlook app. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi danielwilliamed,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with accessing Outlook on your partner's device. To isolate the issue, could you try changing the DNS? Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced networking.
  3. Tap DNS.
  4. Select Custom and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
  5. Tap Save.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi danielwilliamed,

Thanks for letting us know that this has not been solved yet. We could try connecting the device to the guest network and check if Outlook works fine to isolate the issue.
