When I ask my Nest Mini to set a Reminder, it seems to work correctly, asking for a time and title.
But when the time comes for the reminder, I just get a visual notification on my tablet or phone. The Nest Mini does nothing, I want it to speak and alert me.
There was a previous thread in the forum titled: "Nest Mini doesn't play any sound for Reminders"
and I tried the fix suggested in it, but it didn't work.
How to fix?

Hi @MYCROFTXXX,
Thanks for reaching out in the community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties getting reminders on your Nest Mini. I understand that the feature is really helpful, and it'd be frustrating when it's not working as expected. No worries, let's work together to get this fixed. To help me with that, I have some questions:
Please let me know the answers to these questions, and I'll be happy to help you further.

Found a reply to another similar issue that is more clarifying.
If for example, I set a reminder to "check laundry", when the time comes, all I get is a chime from the mini, and NOT a voice actually saying "check laundry". [I WILL get a visual note on my phone/tablet to "check laundry", however, which I find highly annoying.]
If this is really the case, it's NOT what I expected from this feature, and am sorely disappointed. Because honestly, that's what I THOUGHT I'd be getting when I bought it in the first place. I'll be giving serious consideration to returning the mini, and going back to an Alexa Dot, which DOES handle this feature.
If there is some way to have the mini actually VERBALLY name the reminder, please explain the process to us.

Tried your steps. The results went like this:
ME:
"HG, set a reminder to 'check laundry' in X minutes."
Mini:
"Alright, I'll remind you to 'check laundry' in x minutes."
in X mins:
Mini:
"There is a notification for Michael.",
rather than:
"Michael, you have a reminder to 'check laundry'."
I'm a senior and disabled. I have the need to set multiple reminders, some short as 10 to 15 mins, some as long as 16 hrs. If I can't get a verbal differentiation (rather than having to go track down my tablet or phone) as to whether to check my dryer, my oven, or my cold-brew coffee, it's really more of a hindrance (AND a royal pain and annoyance) than an assistance.
Is there a solution with this product?
