I was a happy Nest Customer for years. After one camera finally died, I made the leap and bought a couple Google products. What a shame that Google has ruined a great thing. The app is buggy--sometimes cameras open right away, other times they won't connect. And is there a feature like with Nest that I could pay an annual subscription to have continuous video and recording?
I'm going to give it a couple months, but so far I'm unimpressed and may move to another online vendor like SimpliSafe.

You can get a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription that will cover ALL of your cameras, old and new:

Well this is good to know. When you read info from Google it seems to want to steer you away from it?
Since I already had a Nest Aware subscription that runs through Dec 2023, I should just be able to add the new cameras to it and keep going?

Yes. That's what we were able to do when we added our battery camera, and then later a 2nd gen indoor camera. We just have to look in the Google Home app for 24/7 history, and in the Google Nest app for 24/7 history for our older cameras.

Well that's how I have it set up now LOL.
I was hoping to get ALL cameras in the Nest App.

Unfortunately, our older 1st gen cameras remain in the Google Nest app for now, and the newer 2nd gen cameras work only in the Google Home app. It seems that Google Nest will eventually move our 1st gen cameras to the Google Home app; they are just now getting ready to let customers test out moving over their 1st gen indoor cameras:
