So about a week ago, the electricity went out for 8 hours period when it came back on. Not only did I have to reset my garage. Door motor but a strange fan started blowing. It's very strong and pushes air outside. So if I open a window or a door you can really feel the air. Rushing past you period it's not the same fan that would turn on for the air conditioner or heater for that matter. And I i
I have actually
I have gone to the category where it says fan and turned it off, and this weird mysterious fan is still blowing. It turns on every day at 330 and turns off every night at 1030. I have actually removed all of the wires from the Nest controller, hoping it would turn off the strange fan. But that was about an hour ago and it has not changed anything 🤦♀️

That does sound odd! I've had similar issues where the fan kicks on unexpectedly, and it turned out to be related to the Eco settings or a schedule conflict in the Home app. Might be worth checking if there's a routine or automation triggering it in the background. Hope you get it sorted!

Hi @SS50,
Thanks for posting in the community. I understand that after the power went out, your fan keeps running and blows strong air every day at the same time. I know how concerning this must be, especially since you've already tried some troubleshooting steps with your Nest Thermostat hoping it would resolve the fan issue with no success. No worries, I'd be glad to assist you.
Since you've already removed the wires from your Nest Thermostat and the fan is still running, this suggests the issue might be with your HVAC system itself rather than your Nest Thermostat. In this situation, a great option would be to contact a Nest Pro technician to take a look at your system in person. They'll be able to safely inspect your wiring and equipment to diagnose why the fan is continuously running.
@joshwilly, thanks for your suggestions!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Jonathan
