Phillips hue bridge cannot connect

SalvatoreRitacc

My google home app cannot connect to the Phillips hue bridge. The Phillips hue app recognizes the hue bridge and I can turn on and off the lights but I cannot add the bridge or lights to google home so I can turn on and off from outside my home.

Hey SalvatoreRitacc,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's figure this out.

A few questions:

  1. Is your Google Home device successfully set up on your WiFi network?
  2. Do you own Philips Hue light bulbs that are successfully set up on the same WiFi network?
  3. Are you able to control your Philips Hue lights using the Philips Hue mobile app?
  4. Have you successfully linked your Philips Hue account to your Google Home device via the Assistant Settings? If not, give these steps a try:
  • Make sure the customer's mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
  • Confirm that your customer has their Google Home and Philips Hue bridge on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Confirm that your customer is using a mobile device that has the same Google account that is currently linked to their Google Home.
  • Confirm that your customer is using the same Google account as the primary account from within the Google Home app.
  • From within the Google Home app go to:
    1. Google Home app >Account > Assistant Settings > Home Control.
    2. Does the customer see their Philips Hue light bulbs listed under Linked Devices?
      1. Yes, move on to the next step.
      2. No, force close the Google Home application and try again. If their Philips Hue light bulbs are still not listed under “Devices” then follow these steps to relink their account.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex
