I'm trying to create an automation to play a video, set a sleep timer, turn off the screen and continue playing. I don't know why when I say turn off the screen it stops playing, if I say continue playing it turns on and doesn't turn off back, I have to manually play the video in my phone for it to still work

Hi @milow,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand how important it is for you to create an automation that plays a video with a sleep timer that turns off the screen while the audio continues. Don't worry, help is here.
Currently, turning off the screen via a timer also stops all associated media playback, since the screen turns off completely. This means the video and its audio will stop together when the screen turns off, and the audio will not continue playing alone.

I think I didn't quite specify, I want to make an automation that plays the video, STARTS a sleep timer but turns off the screen immediately, not when the sleep timer runs out, like the moment I start the automation, currently the screen keeps playing the video and does not turn off, if I say turn off the screen it will stop playing the video, basically what I want is continuous video playback with the screen off, then when the sleep timer runs out, stop the playback

Hi there!
Thanks for your reply. Even though the screen turns off at the beginning of the sleep timer or after the time runs out, the screen-off command will interrupt the video playback, so this option is not available.
Best regards.
