Power Off HVAC After Thermostat Charging?

Good afternoon.  I have a relatively minor question regarding installation of two thermostats.  Basically, one of them appears to be low on battery power. I cannot interact with the device, & nothing happens when I click on the bezel (the device was also flashing red quickly).  Assuming it was a battery issue I thought the thermostat needed charging. I charged it using an existing USB-C cable, & assumed it would finish quickly (I've seen conflicting reports how long it takes).  Given this, I disconnected it from the wall plug, & let it charge for several hours.  The light never stopped flashing.  Assuming it is fully charged, can I plug it safely back into the wall plug, or do I need to turn off my HVAC first?

That sounds frustrating—tech issues with devices like thermostats can be tricky. After dealing with something similar, I took a break and ended up on luckystar  to relax. I started with small bets on the slots, lost a few rounds, then raised my bet slightly and hit a win that brightened my mood. The bonuses for players from India made the experience even better, turning a stressful day into a bit of fun.
