I have a Nest thermostat and use both the Nest app and Home. I've deleted all automations and schedules in the Nest app so I can use just the Home app and presence sensing in an bid to simplify the process and also my partner can control devices without clashing.
However we've been away all weekend, and the AWAY setting worked but was then overridden by the routine and it's been full on for both days.
History:
AWAY (set to Eco) activated by 3 things - Presence Sensing, GPS and AWAY ROUTINE at 08.29
ROUTINE: (HEAT to 18c from 08.30) activated at 08.32
The heating remained on ALL DAY until the night routine switched off again, so the mice were all warm and cosy.
What's the point of presence sensing if it's going to be ignored by subsequent routines?!
Any intel on how to avoid this?
