Anyone have this problem. 6 protects. Worked great for years. I renamed my network and disconnected and factory reset all the protects. I can get one reconnected but any and all of the others fail when trying to use the first connected device in thier mesh setup. I have tried every single thing. Different network, no 5ghz. Different phones. Reinstalled app. Hard reset over and over. Rebooted router. Tinkered with a lot of settings. A couple times I was able to somehow get to the WiFi connect option for the 2nd decive only to have it fail at the very last step. Frustrated. Error code co24. Disabled firewall. Changed dns…

Hi @Goingblue,
Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear that your Nest Protects are not connecting to each other in the mesh network after factory reset, and you can only connect one of them. Don’t worry, help is here.
I'll be waiting for your reply.
Best regards.
Derick.

Hi Derick, thanks for responding. I had these all plugged in and working throughout my home. The only thing I did was rename the SSID. I have a pile of them next to me, right next to the router. I can only get one setup (I can pick any one of them off the pile), when I go to add the second one, failure, every time. I'm unable to consistently get it to bypass using its private little network to setup the next device. Somehow, magically, a couple of times I got to be able to add the 2nd device by connecting directly to it, like the first one, and it failed too. I have turned off and on 2.4, 5ghz, tried different physical routers, set the router to defaults. I have factory reset the things so many times I'm going bonkers. They are wired, fresh batteries, I removed all of them from the nest app. I even recreated the old network SSID just to see if they weren't really removed from my account. So, I think that answers all your questions. I have tried different apps on different phones. Rebooted everything countless times. These things worked fine up until a simply network re-naming. Oh, and I am 100% sure they are not expired, I got a few more years left based on the label. I clicked thru to HELP on one of the error messages and for some reason that was the top explanation. After the bull crap of having 18 worthless window and door sensors and nest home unit...I'm about done with anything related to NEST. 🙂
