Resolved! Smart switches no longer able to be turned off by Google Home App or Google Assitant

Edit July 2 2023: with no actions taken by me, the issue appears to be resolved.

We have a number of WiFi smart wall switches connected to our Google home through SmartLife. In the last 24 hours we are experiencing very weird behaviors:

- wall switches controlled perfectly through smartlife app
- can turn switches on in Google Home app or through voice command to Google assistant, but cannot turn switch off
- routines that turn a wall switch on working as designed
- routines that turn a wall switch off turn it on instead

-dimmer switches working OK, only basic on/off switches are affected with this issue
- syncing or reconnecting Smartlife app does not fix issue
- removing device from smartlife and reconnecting it does not fix issue

Other devices connected through smartlife such as wifi light bulbs and wifi smart outlets seem to be working normally.

Please correct this issue and restore proper functionally to wall switches.

I’m having the same exact experience and did the same steps to try to fix it. I have also tried to reboot my google Wi-Fi network. Unfortunately it did not help. In addition, the google home app does not pick up the current state of the switch. I.E. if I turn it on using google home app, it will show on in google home. But if I physically turn the switch off, it still shows on in the google home app. Using the native smart life app works fine and picks up the current state. And my dimmer switches are also fine. Just the fixed On/Off type switches that are having issues.

Link to switches in use below. Using same brand for both dimmer and on/off.

I Have the same problem here Treatlife Single Pole Smart,...They (3) were in staled several years ago and have been working fine. All have the issue described above. I have tried all the resets and nothing has helped. Seems like a software issue on Google's end to me.

Same issue. I noticed that my outside lights are still on in the morning. I have one smart device that is not Treatlife but I did add it with the Smart Life app. That device turns off as expected and the on/off state reflects correctly in the Google Home app. This seems to only affect the Treatlife brand devices

I’m having the same issue with TreatLife single pole switches only. All dimmer switches and fan switches work fine.

Mine are working again.  Hope you find similar results

Same issue with only one of several other similar switches I have on my home. Google Home support troubleshooted and could not figure out the problem. Apparently some switches may have a different fir that is not compatible with an update done on Google Home App, I suppose.

I will try calling Treatlife tomorrow.

Mine are working again.  Hopefully that call is not necessary
