Sleep timers in routine

FroggyWoggy
Community Member

Sleep timers have disappeared from the play media option in the routine menu. I can only set it to play media but can no longer a timer. Added to that, I'm not able to add a simple command to set a timer as the creation menu won't let them have any action after the "Play media"action .

Help please!

Hey FroggyWoggy,

We're sorry if you're having trouble with your sleep timer — let's see what's going on.

A few questions: what Google Nest device do you have? Are you using the ready-made or custom routine? Also, when did it start happening? Kindly check this link to see if it helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

Hello, thanks for your reply.

I'm using a first generation Google home and every so often my bedtime routine "drifts away" with the wrong playlist being launched for a while. This is during one of those occasions that I noticed the sleep timer option is no longer in the pre-made bedtime routine. I noticed it about 2 weeks ago but I can't be positive this is exactly when the problem started, it that makes sense.

Hello Princess,

I did see the link but it doesn't help. It's just the help page I looked at before contacting you. The option simply isn't there anymore.

Hey FroggyWoggy,

While you can't set the sleep timer on your bedtime routine, you can add "Plays sleep sounds" to your routine. Sleep sounds plays for one hour if not turned off. Furthermore, you can also set a sleep timer separately.

Thanks,

Alex
