Speaker not recognising my voice

Hi everyone my speaker worked perfectly since I have had it but now I cant get it to respond to my voice commands at all. I can connect it through my phone but it will not respond to my voice and have tried several times to reset my voice. I would really like it to work again. Any ideas?

A few questions: what Google Home or Nest device do you have? When did it stop recognizing your commands? Have you tried some troubleshooting steps to fix this?

Please make sure that your Google Home or Nest speaker is not on mute. Resetting it to factory defaults and setting it up again might also help. You can also check if it still hears your commands. Here's how: open the Google Home app > Select your Account icon at the top right > Choose My Activity > Scroll down and you should see your recent voice commands to the device.

hi It’s a Google Speaker it’s not on mute and I’ve tried all the diagnostics advised on the Google home app including resetting to default/factory settings. The app recognises my voice and therefore turns on my lamp via the Hive smart plug but I can’t use it without logging into the app. I’ve also retrained my voice several times

Chiming in, have you tried the steps provided @LovelyM? Please tap and hold a finger on the touch surface of the speaker for approximately 3 seconds to check if the LEDs respond to long press.

Yes this works and the lights appear but still doesn’t recognise any voice commands

The device was purchased I believe in Argos approximately 4 years ago
