I am an invested google home user, and have set up Google home for some elderly family in other locations and also at a holiday home. In order to support family, view cameras in a different location etc, I have to be a member of multiple homes.
Originally the broadcast function would just operate to the specified home on the home app. However, now all messages are being broadcast to all homes! This is ridiculous and completely removes any usefulness. ( I can't just remove myself as this thread suggests https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/When-I-broadcast-the-message-also-goes-...).
Please can you sort this out? Seems another example of developers just not paying attention to the user.
Thank you.

We do NOT have multiple Google Nest "homes/structures". But I'm curious. Does a "broadcast" get sent to all "homes" when it is sent from a Nest Hub (which is connected to only one Google Nest "home/structure"), or when it is sent from your phone (which is connected to all of your Google Nest "homes/structures")?
There is nothing at all in Google Nest's online documentation of the broadcast function that addresses what happens when there are multiple Google Nest "homes/structures". Maybe they should have an option to broadcast to a particular "home".

When I first set up our Google Homes, I could broadcast to a specific home (whether by voice command or through the phone app) . However, this has changed so that, for example, if I press the broadcast button on Google Home app (which is within a particular home structure), the message is also broadcast to the other homes. So my parents, aunt, holiday house all get the message! This is really annoying and makes the whole function pretty useless!

You're right; the Google Home app is always within a particular "home/structure". I should have realized that.
It sounds like they've downgraded the broadcast function over the years.
If you broadcast from a Nest Hub or Nest Mini (which really shouldn't have any way of connecting to another "home"), does the broadcast also go to all of your "homes"?

Yep it does! No way of avoiding it it seems.

Amazing.
Their Help topic has a subtopic entitled "Broadcast a message to your entire home" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7531913).
There's nothing about broadcasting to all of your "homes".
