I have some time-triggered routines that look like this:
10 a.m.
Starters
When I say to my Assistant "10 a.m."
When the time is 10:00AM daily
Actions
Play a delightful chime
Tell me the time
Device for audio: Hub
Routines set up like this used to work fine and then one day about 6 months ago they just stopped working. and never worked again.
Now nothing happens at all when the time for the routine passes and if I use the spoken direction (eg say to my Assistant "10 a.m.") Goog le just says "Sorry I don't know how to help with that".
I've tried various things (using different speakers etc.) but nothing helps.
I have 2 Google Max speakers, 1 Nest Audio, 2 Nest Minis and 2 Hubs.

Hi there,
I don't think "Play a delightful chime" is a command? My speakers look for something from YouTube music to play.
I would try changing your other command from "Tell me the time" to "What time is it", let us know if this helps?
If you are still having issues then please upload a screenshot of your routine.

Hi there,
"Play a delightful chime" is a preset Google command. You can find it under "Get info and reminders". It's the second last option between "tell me the time" (also a preset) and "tell me about upcoming birthdays".
This routine doesn't use any of my own wording. I'm just choosing from preset options.
PS how do I upload a screenshot?

For screenshot use this button.

Hmmm, I don't have that option. My toolbar only has an Insert Picture (from HTML source only) option.

Hey DanielRuben,
Sorry for the delayed response.
Still having issues creating routines? If so, try deleting your old routines and create a new one. Also, you can reset your Nest speaker to its default settings.
Hope that helps!
Thanks,
Alex

Thx but I've already tried deleting and resetting the routines. I have multiple speakers (2x Max, 2x Hub, 2x Mini and 1 Nest Audio). I've reset and rebooted them all as well as the Google Home app and none of it makes any difference. Many people on the Google Home subreddit report the same issue. I conclude the problem is at Google's end with its code

Hi DanielRuben,
Thanks for doing all those steps.
Just to confirm, are you using the ready-made Routines? Could you try creating a custom routine and apply the same action that you do with your recent one?
Thanks,
Alex

I had custom routines like this set up for every hour of the day:
10 a.m.
Starters
When I say to my Assistant "10 a.m."
When the time is 10:00AM daily
Actions
Play a delightful chime
Tell me the time
Device for audio: Hub
They all stopped working. Now when I make any kind of routine that involves a set time, and Google saying something at the set time (eg time, weather, traffic), they're just not triggered at all.
Except if I say the trigger phrase to my phone assistant (and just my phone only, no other devices respond).

Hi DanielRuben,
To further isolate this one, could you please try to add a different action other than the "Play a delightful chime" if it will play. Also, try to create a new routines with the Play a delightful chime sound to see if it will play.
Thanks,
Alex

Like I said previously, when I make any kind of routine that involves 1. a set time, and 2. Google saying something at the set time (eg time, weather, traffic), they're just not triggered at all.

Hey DanielRuben,
We appreciate your efforts. Could you please try these steps:
1. Go to https://bit.ly/2LW1PQ8
2. Sign in the email linked to your Google Home.
3. Look for Other Google Activity > Google Assistant routines.
4. Delete all your Routines.
Let us know if the steps help.
Thanks,
Alex

Okay thanks, but that's not practical for me. I have 100+ routines set up and I use them frequently. It'd take me forever to recreate them all. Nevermind, it's not that important that this kind of routine doesn't work. I'll just wait until it resolves itself as most Google bugs seem to do eventually. Thanks for your assistance.
