Trying to uninstall you tube from chromecast but the option is there to reinstall

Hi Team,

We are having issues with my 5yo son watching content on you tube that we don’t approve of. In fact I want to uninstall you tube from chromecast all together but by using the microphone it displays videos on you tube that match. Is there a way to stop this as he selects it and it gets reinstalled!

please help!!

Hey Helen77,

Turning on YouTube Restricted Mode lets you hide songs and videos that contain inappropriate content. Check this article for more information.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Alex

I guess I don’t want him to watch any you tube. Can you please help with that?

Hello there,

To make sure, do you have the Chromecast with Google TV? If so, while we don't have a way to disable or uninstall YouTube since it's built-in on the device, you can use or create a child's account for your son. Check this guide for more information.

Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Alex
